Efficient operations at historic Nermo Hotel
4. September 2026
At Nermo Hotel near Hafjell, guests have been welcomed since 1877. Today, long-standing traditions are combined with the demands of a modern hotel, where two Paxster Cargo vehicles have become trusted everyday work companions for the staff.
Nermo Hotel in Øyer is a family-run hotel with a history dating back to 1877. Today, the hotel is run by the fifth generation and is a member of De Historiske Hotel & Spisesteder, a collection of historic hotels and restaurants in Norway.
The property includes 31 hotel rooms, traditional staff quarters, 53 apartments and four historic storehouse suites, as well as a restaurant, meeting and event facilities, a golf course and recreational areas.
That also means plenty of buildings, guests and tasks, and a lot that needs to be moved from one place to another throughout the working day.

Smooth transport between the hotel, apartments and historic buildings
Two Paxster Cargo vehicles are now part of the daily operations at Nermo. They are used for everything from transporting guests’ luggage to the historic storehouse suites and moving bed linen, to housekeeping and a variety of other transport tasks around the hotel grounds.
For the staff, it is first and foremost about being able to move easily around the property and bring along everything they need.
Mariola is one of those who uses the Paxsters as part of her working day, and she has no doubt that they are a great fit for Nermo. She particularly highlights how easy they are to handle and how their compact size makes them well suited to the narrow roads and passages between the buildings in the historic courtyard.
In use all year round at Nermo Hotel
The Paxsters are not just useful during the peak season. They are used throughout the year, in both summer and winter.
Mariola says:
“My girls use the Paxsters a lot, and the feedback from the staff has been very positive.”
Whether luggage needs to be taken to a suite, bed linen moved between buildings or the housekeeping team needs to get to their next task, the vehicles are ready to go. This has made them a natural part of the day-to-day logistics across the property.

A modern hotel operation in historic surroundings
At a hotel with almost 150 years of history, development does not necessarily mean making big changes. Sometimes, it is simply about finding practical solutions that make everyday work a little easier, without changing what makes the place special.
At Nermo Hotel, the two Paxsters have found their place in exactly that way: as compact, practical work vehicles that help the staff keep daily logistics running smoothly, from morning to evening and throughout the seasons.
