Efficient artificial turf maintenance with Paxster
22. September 2026
When Manglerudhallen was looking for a machine to maintain its new artificial turf, the requirements were clear: it had to be powerful enough to pull the maintenance equipment, easy to use and flexible enough to handle several tasks around the facility. After testing the Paxster Air+, they found what they were looking for.
Manglerudhallen has recently undergone a renovation worth around NOK 9 million. An important part of the upgrade is the new artificial turf, and when investing in a new playing surface, proper and regular maintenance is essential to protect that investment.
For this job, Manglerudhallen chose the Paxster Air+.
The Paxster is the best maintenance machine we have. We have invested a lot in the facility, so it is important for us to take good care of it in the years ahead.
Robert Svoren, Manglerudhallen
Artificial turf requires regular maintenance
An artificial turf surface is not maintenance-free. Regular brushing and grooming help distribute the infill and keep the pitch in good condition.
At Manglerudhallen, various artificial turf maintenance implements are attached directly behind the Paxster. This allows one compact machine to be used for several of the ongoing maintenance tasks on the pitch.
Before making their decision, they tested whether the Air+ actually had the capacity required.
It is more than powerful enough and more than fast enough for the work we need to do. At the same time, we can use it both inside the hall and outdoors, and since it is road-legal, we can also drive it on public roads.

No need for a large tractor
For Manglerudhallen, the choice was also about finding a machine that was appropriately sized for the tasks at hand. A larger tractor could have carried out much of the same work, but it would also have represented a significantly larger investment than the facility required.
The Paxster Air+ provides the pulling power they need for the maintenance equipment in a much more compact format. At the same time, the vehicle can be used for other tasks around the facility. In winter, it can also be equipped for snow ploughing outside the hall.
We did not need a tractor costing a million kroner. With Paxster, we have a machine that does the job we need it to do, at a price we are very happy with.

New artificial turf from Saltex
The new artificial turf at Manglerudhallen was supplied by Saltex. The same type of artificial turf is also used at several Norwegian top-flight football stadiums. The pitch uses BioFlex Eco as infill, an alternative developed with future requirements for artificial turf pitches in mind. The infill consists of sand coated with cellulose and has been developed as an alternative to traditional polymer-based infill. For Manglerudhallen, the investment in a new surface makes it particularly important to establish good maintenance routines from the start.

A partnership for sports facilities
Saltex and Paxster have also entered into a partnership in which Paxster becomes part of Saltex’s offering to sports facilities. Saltex aims to be a complete solutions provider for sports facilities. This means not only supplying the artificial turf or equipment itself, but also offering solutions that make it easier to operate and maintain the facility over time. This is where Paxster fits in as a compact electric utility vehicle that can be used with artificial turf maintenance equipment, while also handling a wide range of other tasks on and around the facility throughout the year.
At Manglerudhallen, Robert Svoren has already made up his mind about its potential:
I am sure we will see many more Paxsters on artificial turf pitches in the years to come.
