Want to develop electric vehicles rolling in 20+ countries?
Paxster is Norway’s largest producer of 4-wheel vehicles of all time — and our vehicles are currently operating in over 20 countries. Everything is developed and manufactured right here in Sarpsborg. Now, we need more talented minds and hands to strengthen our product development!
As a product developer specializing in mechanical design, you will work closely with both new and existing vehicles. This is not a typical “office job” — with us, you’ll spend as much time in the workshop or production as in front of the screen. You’ll work on improvements, further development, and adaptations of current vehicles — but you’ll also have the opportunity to contribute to brand new concepts and models in planning.
🚀 What we’re looking for
We seek someone with a technical education, an eye for detail, and a strong interest in vehicles and mechanics/mechatronics. You enjoy practical work, don’t shy away from hands-on tasks in the workshop, but also like structured and precise work with 3D modeling and documentation. It’s important that you enjoy learning regulations and working with homologation/type approvals.
You might be the one if you:
-
Have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, or equivalent
-
Have experience with mechanical design, 3D modeling, and technical documentation (preferably Inventor)
-
Preferably have practical experience, e.g., as a car mechanic or workshop technician
-
Enjoy working both with your hands and your head
-
Are structured, curious, solution-oriented — and a good team player
-
Like learning regulations and understanding/testing compliance with type approval requirements
-
Have strong technical understanding and like to follow projects from start to finish
-
Are organized and systematic — you like seeing things through to completion
-
Are proficient in Norwegian and English, both spoken and written
-
Bonus: Experience with electrical systems is a plus but not required
🧩 What will you do?
-
Develop and improve mechanical components and systems in our existing vehicles
-
Practical testing, adjustments, and trials in the workshop and in the field
-
Work with regulations related to our vehicle group and homologation/type approval
-
Follow up on production, suppliers, and technical documentation
-
Assist with technical adaptations for different customer needs and markets
-
Participate in the development of new variants and models from the ground up
