Suppevogna in Drammen – Community on wheels with Paxster
12. February 2026
In the Drammen area, a very special Paxster is on the move. Not delivering mail or goods – but warm soup, care and community.
Suppevogna has become a meeting place for people from all walks of life. Here, rich and poor come together over a bowl of soup, a smile and a conversation. The soup itself is prepared in their kitchen, then transported out to where it is needed most.
Seeing the potential behind the doors
The idea to use a Paxster came from an unexpected moment.
“I saw the back of a Paxster postal vehicle. When I opened the rear doors, I immediately saw the huge potential for a kitchen and serving setup.”
Kjell Henriksen – Suppevogna
What started as a simple observation quickly turned into a solution. The flexible cargo area and solid rear compartment made it possible to create a practical, mobile soup distribution unit – tailored to their needs.

One vehicle – endless possibilities
The reason for choosing Paxster was clear: it offered the versatility they were looking for. Its compact size makes it easy to manoeuvre in urban areas, while the rear cargo box provides space and flexibility for their setup.
For Suppevogna, this means:
-
Very low operating costs
-
Around 60 km (approx. 37 miles) of range on a single charge
-
Reliable daily operation
-
A vehicle that is easy for volunteers to drive
“The operating costs are minimal – it runs about 60 kilometres without charging, which is fantastic. We haven’t had any major issues. When the ignition lock acted up a bit, a friendly service technician came the next day and replaced it at no cost.”

Safety and confidence behind the wheel
For the volunteers who drive Suppevogna, it’s about more than transport – it’s about safety and confidence. The Paxster is described as easy to drive, offering excellent visibility and simple parking. It moves smoothly through narrow city streets, and the heated handle grips are highly appreciated during cold Norwegian days.
“Safety means a lot to us. It’s comfortable to drive, easy to manoeuvre, and everyone feels confident when they’re behind the wheel of our Paxster.”
More than just a vehicle
For Suppevogna, the Paxster has become more than an electric utility vehicle. It’s a tool for inclusion. A way to create social connection. A bridge between people. When the rear doors open, it’s not just about logistics – it’s about opening up space for dignity, warmth and community. And that shows just how much potential can lie behind two rear doors.
