– A work tool that fits Geiranger – our village

26. February 2026

In the heart of the World Heritage site in Geiranger, you’ll find Norsk Fjordsenter – the visitor centre for the West Norwegian Fjord Landscape. Here, the story of the fjord, the forces of nature, and the people who have lived and worked in this spectacular landscape for generations is brought to life.

But the work does not stop at the indoor exhibitions. Out in the village centre and throughout the community, daily efforts are made to care for both the natural environment and the experience of those who live in and visit Geiranger. In this work, a small electric helper has become a natural part of everyday operations.

Perfect for narrow streets

Norsk Fjordsenter has put a Paxster Compact into use for a variety of tasks – from clean-up initiatives in the World Heritage area to planting in the village centre and transporting technical equipment during the Geiranger Light Art Festival.

“We are extremely pleased with our Paxster. We have all grown very fond of this small, unique little vehicle.”

Katrin B. Bakken, Managing Director at Geirangerfjord World Heritage Foundation

Geiranger offers both narrow streets and sections of more uneven terrain. This is exactly where the compact format truly proves its value.

“For us, it is perfect for simple transport tasks in narrow streets, and it also easily handles slightly uneven terrain.”

A natural part of daily operations

Whether it is cleaning up in the World Heritage area, transporting plants to beautify the village centre, or ensuring that technical equipment reaches the right locations during events, it is all about efficient and considerate logistics in sensitive surroundings.

For Norsk Fjordsenter, the vehicle has become more than just a means of transport – it has become a practical and reliable part of the working day in one of Norway’s most iconic villages.

And perhaps most importantly: it gets the job done without disturbing the very surroundings it is meant to help protect.
