Team Rynkeby is a European charity cycling team that cycles for income for children with critical illnesses. In Norway, all funds raised go to children with cancer. In 2021 alone, they raised more than NOK 14 million for the Childhood Cancer Association in Norway. July 8th this year is a big day – 300 cyclists will start their journey towards Paris, from Rådhusplassen in Oslo, with a Rynkeby Paxster in front! We wish them luck!
It all started in Denmark
Team Rynkeby was founded in 2002 when 11 exercise cyclists associated with the Danish juice producer Rynkeby Foods A / S decided to cycle to Paris to see the end of the Tour de France.
Rynkeby Foods was the main sponsor of the trip, but other companies also gave their support. In fact, the participants in history’s very first Team Rynkeby – Good Morning team were so good at getting sponsors that the profit turned out to be as much as 42,000 NOK when the team was back in Denmark just over a week later.
Team Rynkeby donated the profit to the pediatric cancer ward at the University Hospital in Odense, and this ended up becoming a tradition.
Paxster as an escort car
After becoming a sponsor, we discussed how we could contribute to their important work in other ways besides being a sponsor. The outcome of the conversation was that a Paxster could actually be very useful to the team! As an escort car on training trips, and when they start their trip from Rådshusplassen in Oslo towards Paris. Of course, we agreed! The Paxster has got nice Rynkeby decor, and has already participated in a couple of events!
